Roger Lewis Stockwell, of Jeffersonville, passed away peacefully at home on May 31, 2018. He was born June 6, 1934 in Bowersville, Ohio to Marvin and Esther (Hidy) Stockwell, and a 1952 graduate of Jeffersonville High School, where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame and served as President of the Jeffersonville PTC. He is survived by his loving wife Rebecca (Johnson) Stockwell with whom he would have celebrated 61 years of marriage on June 12.

Children Christy (Mike) Bryant, Kevin (Dee Minton) Stockwell, Heidi (Mike) Jinks, and Stacey (Jon) Wilt. Also left to cherish his memory are Grandchildren Brittany Bryant, Heath (Abbie) Bryant, Brady (Sarah) Bryant, Tyler (Courtney) Wilt, Beth Ann (Andrew) McLaughlin, Amy (Chris) Martinez, Stacey Jinks, Stephanie Jinks, Kyle Stockwell, Taylor Stockwell, Emma Horton, and Travis Horton. Eleven Great Grandchildren whom he adored: Kaden, Ella, Kamden and Brielle Bryant, Matthias and Landry Smith, Corbyn and Alexia Wilt, Olivia and Abby McLaughlin and Kelsey Martinez.

He is also survived by a sister Norine Cooper and sister-in-law Shirley Stockwell. Roger was preceded in death by a daughter Angela Beth, his parents, Brother Marion Stockwell, Mother and Father-in-law Roy and Helen Johnson, brother-in-laws Gene and Larry Johnson and Lyon Cooper. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army while stationed in Korea.

A lifelong farmer, Roger loved to verbally joust with people through his memberships with the Southwest Ohio Corn Growers Assoc. , Ohio Soybean Assoc. , Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Assoc.

and was a member and past President of the Fayette County Cattlefeeders, and was also the 2018 recipient of the Distinguished Cattlemen Award. He served as a board member of the Countrymark Co-Op and on the Fayette County FSA Advisory Board. He fondly spoke of playing the trumpet in the first All-Ohio FFA Band.

Roger was a member of Unity Fellowship Church. In his final years his passion became sharing his testimony of his glimpse of heaven and the power of prayer at numerous local churches and to those he came in contact with daily. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 5th, 2018 at 11:00AM at Unity Fellowship Church, 4405 Prairie Rd.
