Obituary for Ronald L. Rice Ronald L. Rice 70 of Louisville passed away at his home Tuesday November 13, 2018 surrounded by his beloved family. Ron was a Claims Team Manager for Liberty Mutual where he has worked for the past 15 years, a former Chief of Police for the Douglas Hills Police Department, and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He also enjoyed charitable work including volunteering with the Special Olympics and he was always the first to help someone in need.
What Ron loved above all else was being with his family. His unique personality always put the needs and joys of others above his own. His infectious positive, free loving soul made him the special person he strived to be.
His favorite pastime was golfing and he considered himself a self-appointed “Professional Golfer”. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Mildred Rice; sister, Jeanie Beavers (Orville); and nephew, Troy Hayes. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, the former Patty Brockman; daughter, Lori Tyra (Vince); son, Corey Rice (Amy); grandchildren, Spencer, Olivia, Audrey, Sydney, Cooper, Kaden, Kennedy, and Lincoln; and brothers, Donald (Sherry) and Darrell (Linda) Rice.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Davis, Dr. Brandon Kellie, Dr. Leelah Bhupalam, and all the nurses @CBC Group. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday November 19, 2018 at Ratterman Funeral Home 12900 Shelbyville Rd. , East Louisville.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday November 18, 2018 and 11 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home.
