Obituary for Virginia Ann Duley On November 12, 2018, our loving mother, Virginia Buskirk Duley, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family. She was born Virginia Ann Buskirk on August 12, 1929. She was the middle child of Dorothy and Dr. J. Randolph Buskirk of Louisville, KY.

She was blessed with two sisters, Martha Buskirk Hellmann of Nashville,TN and Barbara Buskirk Schneider of Barrington Hills, IL. Mother was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. While attending the University of Louisville, she met her husband, our father, Dr. Henry Hamilton Duley.

After they married, they settled down and had five children. We were blessed with two loving parents. Mom was a beautiful and elegant lady, but she was even more beautiful on the inside.

As her children, we know how lucky we were to have a mother who adored each of us with all of her heart and soul. She was very protective and devoted, but she could also be our toughest critic when deserved. She taught us to be kind, compassionate, to forgive others and forgive ourselves.

She always wanted the best for us and for each of us to find happiness. Through the illnesses and deaths of both our brother and father, we found our strength in our mother. In taking care of our father and brother, she showed us how to be selfless and patient.

Words can’t express how broken our hearts are over the loss of this beautiful, kind, loving, and extremely special lady. The loss of our mother is overwhelming; she was our treasure. Heaven is now one of the luckiest places to be with her in it.

There is no way to write about all the wonderful things you have been to us mom. You will stay in our hearts forever. It’s hard to be in a world without you in it.

Not sure how we will go on without you. We love you so much mom. Thank you for everything.

Until we meet again. She is survived by her children: son, Randy Duley (Linda); daughter, Donna Duley Davis (Hank); son, Patrick Duley (Bonnie); daughter Diane Duley Cunagin (Tim). Grandchildren: Melissa Duley, Ryan Duley (Victoria), Katie Washbish, Ann Marie Washbish, Ginny Washbish, Handlin Duley, Caroline Duley, Lilly Duley French, Daniel Cunagin and Christian Cunagin.

And 2 great grandchildren: Henry and Dallas. She was preceded in death by her son, our bother, and Melissa’s father, Hank Duley and our dear father, Dr. Henry Hamilton Duley. The family wishes to express love and gratitude to her devoted caregiver and friend, Marie Stoess; we do not know how we could have survived without you.

Thank you to our other compassionate caregivers and friends, Vera McBroom and Jeanne Terry. Thank you to her kind neighbors, Vanda and Jo Anne, and all the wonderful Hosparus staff that made the hard times a little easier.
