Rose F. Santangelo, age 94 of Johnstown, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2018 at Wells Nursing Home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Quincy, Massachusetts on February 17, 1924, a daughter of the late Rosario Macaluso and Vincenza Bonomo Macaluso. Rose was a high school graduate and worked several years as a Bank Teller in Boston.

When she relocated to Fulton County, Rose was a employed as a glove sewer for the former Superb Gloves and later the former Crescendoe Gloves. Mrs. Santangelo was of the Catholic faith, a communicant of the former Immaculate Conception Church. Rose was very devoted to her family and to Church.

She is survived one son Joe Santangelo (Catherine); two daughters Maryann Simek (Richard) and Judith Bovee (Gary), one older sister Chancy Coppolino, one brother-in-law Phil Santangelo; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by her husband Joseph A. Santangelo whom she married on November 17, 1946 and whom passed in February of 2004. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Holy Trinity Church, Glebe Street, Johnstown, New York.

Visitation for family and friends will be prior to the Mass on Wednesday, January 30 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in the spring. Contributions in Rose’s memory may be made to Nursing Department of Wells Nursing Home, 201 W. Madison Avenue, Johnstown, New York 12095 or to the Holy Trinity Church Memorial Fund, 207 Glebe Street, Johnstown, New York 12095.
