Obituary of Rosida Soriano Rosida C. Soriano, 86, of Salisbury, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, April 15, 2018. Born on April 30, 1931 in Walterboro, SC, she was the daughter of the late Irby and Audrey Koger. After graduating valedictorian of St. John’s High School, Rosida continued her education at the School of Nursing of the Medical College of South Carolina.

Soon after, she attended the Case Western Reserve where she became an ER nurse. Rosida met Dr. Jose Soriano in Cleveland and were married for 45 years. She left her nursing career to become a dedicated and devoted mother to their five children.

Rosida loved to play the piano and taught herself from an early age. She was a gifted sewer and an avid gardener. Rosida is survived by three sons, Wayne Soriano and his wife Patty, Michael Soriano, Phillip Soriano; a daughter, Carolyn Soriano-Verhagen and her husband Jim; a grandson, Christopher Soriano; a granddaughter, Theodora Rosa Verhagen; four brothers; three sisters and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Rosida is preceded by her husband, Dr. Jose D. Soriano, a son, Joseph Soriano, a brother, Carl Koger. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 1:00 pm at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Salisbury. Burial will be in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, P.A., 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD 21804. To send condolences to the family, please visit www.
