Ruth Clark Lerche, age 85, of Sanford, NC, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at her home. She was born in Lee County, NC on August 7, 1932 to the late Walter Richardson Clark and Mary Etta “Mamie” Sloan Clark. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a husband Fred Theile; grandson Ricky Fields; brother Dewey Clark and sisters Mary Dankovich, Frances Pierce and Joan Barner Ruth was a 1951 graduate of Jonesboro High School, 1972 Graduate of the Central Carolina Community College Nursing Program and worked as an LPN for over 25 years at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.

She was also employed at numerous Veteran’s Hospitals in Louisiana and Nebraska. Most recently, she was the secretary and treasurer of Saturday Night Dance at the Lee County Enrichment Center. She is survived by son Edward Rouse of Sanford; daughters Debbie Sumering Womack of Holly Springs, Darlene S. Wade and husband Ricky of Goldsboro, Connie S. Woodell and husband Harvey of Sanford; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of Jonesboro Presbyterian Church with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM with Rev. John Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church cemetery.
