Sara Ella Yocum December 28, 1929 – March 12, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Sara Ella (Markley) Yocum, 89, of Souderton, PA; formerly of Hatfield, PA died on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Souderton Mennonite Homes. She was the loving wife of the late J. Harold Yocum for 66 years. Sara was born in Hatfield, Pennsylvania to the late Oscar Markley and the late Naomi (Feusner) Markley.

She graduated from Hatfield High School, class of 1947. Sara was a co-owner with her husband of Yocum Godshalk & Company Souderton. She volunteered at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville, Souderton Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, & the Penn Foundation in Sellersville.

Sara was a member of Zwingli United Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Y. Hirst & husband, William of Fountainville, PA; her son, William J. Yocum & wife, Suzanne of Souderton, PA; her five grandchildren – TJ, Patrick, Daniel, James, & Michael; her three great-grandchildren – Claire, Isabella, & Victoria; and her two sisters, Helen Bergey of Lakeville, PA & Ruth Weber of Lansdale, PA; and several nieces and a nephew. A private family memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

A private inurnment will take place at a later date and time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements by: Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 East Broad Street, Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964.
