Mary Anna Gilmore March 16, 1930 – March 02, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mary Anna Gilmore, 88, of Sellersville, formerly of Souderton, PA entered into rest on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at The Community at Rockhill, Sellersville, PA. Mary Anna was born in Wilkes Barre, PA to the late Haydn and Anna Sylvanus (Lewis) Gilmore. A graduate of West Pittston High School, PA, she received her Bachelor’s Degree, as a Designer Artist, at Moore College of Art, Philadelphia, PA.

Mary Anna was employed as a Designer Artist for Gund Corp. , Edison, NJ. She was a member of the Lehigh Valley Couturiere Society and Peak Toe Tappers of the Lansdale Senior Center.

Mary Anna was a member of Christ Reformed Church at Indian Creek. She was employed from 1960 – 1984 for Mel Richman, Inc., Bala Cynwyd, PA in concept to finish illustrations and designs for all types of advertising/promotion/packaging. From 1985-86 Mary Anna was a designer and illustrator of greeting cards for Paramount Cards, Pawtucket, RI, from 1986 until 1988 she was a product designer for soft toys manufactured by Hasbro, Inc. Pawtucket, RI.

Mary Anna was also employed by Gund, Inc., Edison, NJ as a toy product designer with some pattern and model making, and an illustrator for package design, hang tags and displays. Mary Anna received the following awards: Communication Arts – Award of Distinctive Merit; Artists Guild of Philadelphia, Award of Excellence; The Philadelphia Club of Advertising Women, First Prize; The Art Directors Club of Philadelphia, Award of Excellence and Society of Illustrators, Selected for Exhibition. She is survived by her sister, Rachel Sweterlitsch and her husband Louis of Bethlehem, PA and nephews, Louis Sweterlitsch, Haydn Sweterlitsch and nieces, Amy Amico, Lisa Santero and Paula Sweterlitsch.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Gilmore and Haydn Gilmore. A celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
