Sherwin Craig Murphy, 82, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018. He was born August 9, 1936 in Johnston County to the late Thurman Murphy and Pauline Wall Murphy Tippett. He honorably served his country in the US Army.

Craig worked as a sales representative with Giant Cement Company. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Green Pines Baptist Church, 1498 Hodge Road, Knightdale, 27545. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:45 pm in the church fellowship hall. Surviving: wife of 55 years, Ruth Glover Murphy; daughter, Angela Murphy Brantley (Wiley) of Wendell; son, Sherwin Craig Murphy, Jr. (Dana) of Cary; grandchildren: Sydney Brantley, Brennan Murphy, Cate Murphy, Olivia Brantley; siblings: Charlie Murphy (Norma) of Knightdale, Mary Currin (Kenny) of Oxford, Thurman Murphy, Jr. (Lois) of Henderson. Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
