Poland- Shirley Jean Fedor, 89, died Monday evening, March 11, 2019 at Shepherd of the Valley in Poland. Shirley was born January 7, 1930 in Sharon, PA, a daughter of the late Louis P. and Myrtle E. Moon Gill. She married Laddie J. Fedor at St. John Episcopal Church in Youngstown on December 18, 1954 where she has been a member for 64 years.

They made their home in Struthers and had two children, Sharon L. (Wayne) Korte of North Olmsted, Oh and L. David Fedor of Poland, OH. A graduate of Sharon High School, Shirley went on to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics from Carnegie Mellon University in 1951. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and the Jr. Progressive Art Club.

Shirley was a home economics teacher at Struthers High School. She loved to cook, sew, read, travel and take part in family activities. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Lou Kratz.

Besides her husband and children, Shirley is survived by her sister, Janet (Eugene) Moon Renz of Hermitage, PA; brother-in-law, John Kratz of Minneapolis; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Friday, March 15, 2019 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman where a funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Gayle Catinella officiating.

Interment will be at Lake Park Cemetery. Shirley’s family requests in lieu of flowers contributions be made in her name to the Struthers Historical Society, 50 Terrace Street, Struthers, OH 44471. The Fedor family would like to acknowledge Dr. Sandy Naples for the many years of service on behalf of Shirley, also Nurse Cindy at home with Shepherd of the Valley and Amanda, Director of Nursing and her staff for their help and kindness and also Rev.

Gayle Catinella for the many home visits on behalf of Shirley.
