Sidney T. “Scooter” Fuqua, 54 passed away Tuesday October 2, 2018 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill following a year of failing health. He was born June 6, 1964 in Alamance County to the late John Clyde and Judith Ann Herron Fuqua and was married to Carolyn Collins Fuqua. Scooter was a member of Bethel Christian Church and enjoyed playing golf and sports.

He was an avid UNC Tarheel fan. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Fuqua; sisters, Lori Fuqua, Hilda (Roy) Wright; a brother Douglas… Read More » Fuqua; step daughter Celia (Cale) Currin; grandchildren, Austin Elliott, Celeste Elliott, Mikayla Manson, Derrick Ball; a great aunt Juanita Shue and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Casey Fuqua; a daughter Christie Fuqua and a brother Jamie Fuqua.

The funeral will be held 3:00 PM Sunday at Bethel Christian Church by Rev. Barry Lane. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Bethel Christian Church Cemetery Fund, 595 Baynes Rd. , Burlington, NC 27217.
