The Reverend Dr. Herman Long, 84 of 201 Piedmont Way met the Savior on September 28, 2018. He was the son of the late Joseph Long and Maggie Corbett Long, both deceased. He was the husband of First Lady Shirley Brown Long.

Reverend Dr. Long was founder and Pastor Emeritus of Miracle Temple Church. He is survived by his loving wife: First Lady Shirley B. Long; 8 children: Ricky M. Long, Sharon D. Kelly (Andrew), Phyllis Y. Long, Stephanie L Enoch-Brown (Garlton), Herman M. Long (Francine), Marvin L. Long, Stephen M. Long (Betsey) and Reginald Jones; 11 grandchildren: Anthony L. Enoch (Christie), Michael A. Enoch Jr, Kareem Kelly (Samone), Dominique Kelly (Latasha), Latoya Long, Shanice Long, Nicole Long, Christopher M. Long, Christopher L. Long (Yasmin), Stephen J. Long, and Joshua M. Long and 14 great-grandchildren: Makhi Enoch, Makayla Enoch, Levi Michael A. Enoch, Brooklyn Sutphin, Shelby Sutphin, McKenzie Coit, Javar Wright, Khloe Furges, Braylon Witherspoon, Jayla Brown, Kyleigh Kelly, Harrlem Compton, Amarion Parker and Camila Long; two sisters-in-law: Frances Long and Jackie Long as well as many nieces, nephews other relatives and dear congregants and friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Joseph “Sack” Long, Bobby Long and Wardnell “Nell” Ireland.
