Sue Dean’s Obituary Sue Dean Johnson, 84, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital. She was born on August 25, 1934, in McKenzie, TN, to the late Thomas Scoggin and the late Fay Scarbrough Scoggin. Sue was a retired teacher and coach of Dyersburg High School and was a 60 year member of First United Methodist Church.

She was a member of the McDowell Music Club, the Sweet Adelines Music Club and the Mid-South Hosta Society. Sue was a Certified Hunter Safety Instructor and was known as the Spoon Lady, where she played at certain civic events. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev.

Ed White and the Rev. Andy Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 4-8 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 and from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Dyersburg Funeral Home. Survivors include her two daughters, Amy Jones and husband, Wayne, of Obion and Ann Strayhorn and husband, Jeff, of Dyersburg; and two grandsons, Grayson Jones of Obion and Ben Strayhorn of Dyersburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Johnson.

Pallbearers will be Scot Wesson, Ben Ragan, Jerry Jones, Brett Jones, Kim Peckenpaugh and Brad Scarbrough. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Wesson and Jim “Teco” Fuchs. Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church.
