Susan Campbell, age 72, of Elizabethton went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 14, 2019 from her residence. Susan was born in Rockford, Illinois and was the daughter of the late James and Lorene Knoblock Middleton. In addition to her adopted parents, she was preceded in death by her birth parents, B.C. Johnson and Dorcus Johnson; two sisters, Ann Baust and Lynn Edward; and her son, Donald Campbell.

Susan was a homemaker and was a devoted wife, mother, servant of God and friend. She was also a very active member of Valley Forge Christian Church, where she was a member of the church choir. She was a former member of Eastern Star, and the Bluff City Music Club and was a secretary for the lady’s counsel.

Susan was called “the card lady” for always sending cards of support out to everyone. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 51 years, Charles Campbell, of the home; her son, Timothy Campbell and wife Mary, of Elizabethton; three sisters, Judy Robinson and husband Dale, of NC, Ellie Thacker and husband Royce, of AL, Sue Johnson, of GA; a special sister in law who took such great care of Susan throughout her sickness, Sherry Campbell Hicks. A service to celebrate the life of Susan Campbell will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Monday, February 18, 2019 in the Chapel of Peace Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Reverend David Seibenaler, officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Monday or at the residence at any time. The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be elders and deacons of Valley Forge Christian Church.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Sizemore, Ronnie Hicks, Billy Campbell, and Bill Campbell. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton at 10:15 AM on Monday, to go in procession. The family would like to thank Wellmont Cancer Center, Dr. Musgrave and the nurses Tina and Julie.
