Susan M. (Pienkos) Lavoie, 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Wingate of East Longmeadow, with her loving family at her side. Born October 17, 1949, daughter of the late Theodore and Steffie (Lentowski) Pienkos, she was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, Bishop & Martyr, and a graduate of Chicopee High School, Class of 1967. Susan worked for many years as a customer service representative at Brightside for Children and Families of West Springfield, and then for the Chicopee Public Schools as secretary of Selser School, until her retirement.

Above all else, Susan was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and treasured family times together, especially their days on Cape Cod. Susan is survived by her beloved husband of forty-seven years, Arthur J. Lavoie; her loving daughters, Stacey A. Maydak and husband Rick of Mansfield, and Lindsay A. Yacovone and husband Paul of East Longmeadow; cherished grandchildren, Jake and Kaylin Maydak, and PJ and Grace Yacovone; and caring brother, Ted P. Pienkos of Chicopee. She was predeceased by her sister, Helen Shea.

Funeral services for Susan will be held Thursday from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica. Committal services and burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday morning from 8-9:45AM.
