Obituary of Sylvester “Pete” Rasmer Sylvester “Pete” Rasmer, 81, of Bay City, was born into eternal life on the morning of Saturday, September 29, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region. Pete was born in Bay City on February 9, 1937, the son of the late Sylvester and Rose Rasmer. While at his next-door neighbor’s house, he happened to meet his niece by the name of Ann Marie Fulco.

They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 27, 1959. He attended St. Stan’s High School and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. Pete, or “Sy” as he was known at the shop, retired from General Motors – Bay City Chevrolet after 30 years of service.

He was a faithful parishioner of Corpus Christi Parish, where he volunteered for the food pantry and fish fries. He enjoyed fishing with his buddied, working in his garage, bonfire, and traveling with his friends in the “TNT Camping Group”. Pete was always helping family and friends by fixing their cars, lawn mowers, and anything else needing to be done.

His loyal and hard-working ways will never be forgotten. He leaves to cherish his memory, his brother, Ray Rasmer; brother-in-law, Tom (Kathy) Fulco, sister-in-law, Ruthmary (Jerry) Coleman; sister-in-law, Rose Rasmer, and Dylan Gasta, who was like his grandson, along with many friends, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, Pete was welcomed home to heaven by his wife Ann Marie on July 7, 2012; siblings, David Rasmer, Delores (Don) Mullins, Rita Rasmer, and infant siblings, Mary Ann, Frances, and Frank Rasmer.

Pete’s family will be present to receive visitors on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 4:00 PM until his 7:00 PM Vigil at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd. , Hampton Twp. A Tribute Cocktail Hour will follow the vigil in The Wesley Room at Skorupski’s.

On Tuesday, October 2, 2018, Pete will be taken to Corpus Christi Parish (Holy Trinity Church), 1008 S. Wenona St., Bay City, where visiting will continue from 10:00 AM until Pete’s 11:00 AM Funeral Liturgy. Fr. Robert Kelm will officiate with the Rite of Committal to be held privately in Floral Gardens Cemetery.
