Obituary of Dorothy Mae Histed Dorothy Mae Histed, 80, of Esville, formerly of Munger, our caring, devoted, sometimes stubborn, and hard-working mother and grandmother passed away on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region. Dorothy was born in Saginaw on February 7, 1938, the daughter of the late John and Stella Allen. While in school, she met Orville Ronald Histed.

They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 18, 1955. After sixty-two years of marriage, Orville preceded Dorothy on Friday, August 4, 2017. Dorothy will forever be remembered as the proprietor of her pride and joy, Go-pher Turf & Till.

She had a love for fishing (especially perch) and was known for her wonderful garden, where she had a particular green thumb for tomato plants. Above all, family always came first and she will forever be remembered as the rock of the family. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Bryan (Janis) Histed; grandchildren, Sadie (Richard) Pelton and Stephanie Histed.

Dorothy’s memory will live on in the hearts of her great-grandchildren, Stormy and Kane Pelton and Elyse and Kaiden LaFramboise, along with Ruth Bentley and family friend, Nick Stockmeyer and family. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her grandson, A.J. Histed. A memorial will be announced at a later date.
