Obituary of Martin Walter Foss Martin Walter Foss, 67, of Hampton Twp. , our loving, caring, generous, hardworking, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was born into eternal life on the morning of Monday, October 29, 2018 with his family by his side. Marty was born in Bay City on February 19, 1951, the son of the late William Foss and Louis (Schindette) Schenke.

Marty graduated from Central High School, class of 1969 and went on to obtain his Mechanic’s Certificate from Delta College. It was at Delta College where he met the love of his life, the former Marjorie MacKenzie. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 11, 1976.

Marty went on to retire from GM Powertrain as a Journeyman Machine Repairman after 30 years. After retirement, he worked at Be Cool Radiators from 2000 until 2013; Marty considered this his “fun” job, where he was able to travel all across the country going to car shows. He was a member of the Corvette Club and for 18 years, a member of the Cool City Car Show committee – raising money for the American Cancer Society.

Those who knew Marty, knew of his love of working on classic cars, camping at Lost Valley Campground in Lupton, and playing, coaching, and refereeing hockey. His love of hockey was passed down to his sons and grandsons – making sure to never miss a game. Marty will be missed dearly.

Left to cherish his memory, is his wife of 42 years, Marjorie; their sons, Christopher (Jessica) Foss and Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Foss; grandchildren, Jon Matthews, Janessa Matthews, Kaleb Foss, and Evan Foss; brother, Fred (Clemmie) Foss; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Beth (Joe) Herek, Patti (Ken) Smith, Deb (Jack) Sabourin, Diane Regulski, Maureen MacKenzie, James (Lari) MacKenzie, Robert MacKenzie, and Anne (Marty) Smith, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Marty was welcomed home to heaven by his in-laws, Jack and Marjorie MacKenzie Marty’s family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday, November 3, 2018, from 10:00 AM until the time of his short 1:00 PM Memorial Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd. , Hampton Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Cool City Car Show, where all proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www. skorupskis.com.
