Takashi Aragaki March 09, 1924 – January 30, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Sympathy Card Mr. Takashi “Taka” Aragaki, age 94, of Hilo, Hawaii, died January 30, 2019 at his residence in Hilo, Hawaii. He was born in Mountain View, Hawaii on March 9, 1924 and was the retired proprietor of the former Sputniks Restaurant in Hilo. He was a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Kyodan, South Pohakulani Kumiai, Hui Okinawa, Hilo Lions Club, Hawaii State Law Enforcement Officers Association (retired Police Commissioner), former Liquor Commissioner, American Legion Post #1 (former Commander) and United States Army Veteran (Private First Class) who served in World War II in Company I of the 442nd Infantry Regiment.

Private services held. No flowers. No Koden (monetary offerings).

He is survived by sons, Dayton H. Aragaki of Hilo and Gareth T. (Penny) Aragaki of Flat Rock, Alabama; daughter, Ginette (Roy) Kubo of Hilo; sister, Helen T. (Kiyoto) Tashima of Honolulu; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
