Tammi L. Henderson Howell May 22, 1962 – January 24, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Sympathy Card Tammi Lynn Henderson Howell, 56, passed away on January 24th, 2019 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, after a long battle with cancer. Her funeral services will be held at North Hodge Assembly of God on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 3pm. A wake will be held at Winnfield Assembly of God on Saturday, January 26, 2019, from 5-8pm.

Tammi was born on May 22, 1962 in Malvern, Arkansas to Stan and Sandra Henderson. She married Tim Howell on May 4, 1984. Together, they raised two boys, Drew and Daniel Howell.

She remained a dedicated employee of the Bank of Winnfield for 34 years. Everyone who knew Tammi remarked on her kind, compassionate nature and unshakeable faith, which motivated her life of service to God, her community, and her family. She loved children and served as the children’s pastor at North Hodge Assembly of God for over a decade, impacting the lives of countless children as she showed them unconditional love, acceptance, and compassion.

She volunteered at the Winn Community Food Pantry every Thursday since 2016, despite her illness. She also served with Kairos Prison Ministries for many years, working behind the scenes to ensure volunteers and inmates were well-fed and well-loved. In her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her plants and chickens.

Tammi is survived by her husband, Tim; her sons, Drew and Daniel Howell of Tulsa, OK; her parents, Stan and Sandra Henderson of Winnfield, LA; one sister, Brenda Leyda and husband James of Atlanta, LA; and a host of other nieces, nephews, foster children. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Horace J. Henderson and Cordie Mae Harvey Henderson as well as her maternal grandparents R. J. Carroll and Vera Singleton Carroll. Tammi made us all better through her quiet, unrelenting love and kindness, and she will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making memorial donations in Tammi’s name to the Winn Community Food Pantry, PO Box 302, Winnfield, LA, 71483.
