Obituary of Thelma E. Batten Biscoe – Thelma Jean Epps Batten, age 76, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Mrs. Batten was born in Montgomery County on November 11, 1941 to Colon Edward and Elgie Mavis (Blake) Epps. She was retired from the Pairing Department at Clayson Knitting Co. Inc. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Harrison Batten.

She is survived by one daughter, Denise Jacobs and husband, Ricky, of Troy; one son, Joey Batten and wife, Julie, of Albemarle; two sisters, Gail Garner of Seagrove and Marie Hogan of Troy; two brothers, Don Epps and Roger Epps, both of Robbins; three grandchildren, Bradley Batten, Rusty Batten, and Lauren Pearl and husband, Doug; and two great-grandchildren, Lindley Pearl and Presley Pearl. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Phillips Funeral Home in Star. The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 11, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.

Tony Hancox officiating. Interment will be in Biscoe Cemetery.
