Thomas’ Obituary GANSEVOORT – Thomas L. Kozloski, Jr. passed away Feb. 17, 2019 at Saratoga Hospital, surrounded by his family. Tom was born in Albany, the son of the late Thomas and Anna (Tuckett) Kozloski, Sr
He was raised in Schenectady and was a graduate of Linton High School. Tom first graduated from Hudson Valley Community College, commuting to school in his VW bug, and later earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Union College. He started his local employment with Albany International (now Kadant ) in 1985 and was employed there until his passing.
Tom was “A Man Among Men”. He spent years outdoors: hiking, skiing, canoeing, boating, whitewatering, fishing, and camping. He enjoyed hours in his garden and tending his birdfeeders.
Tom was well known for cooking for and feeding everyone. No one remained a stranger for long in his home. Most of all, Tom was devoted to his family.
He encouraged his children in every way, from their schoolwork to attending countless concerts, recitals, musicals and plays for his daughter and hockey and soccer games for his sons. He was proud of all they did and the adults they have become. Tom and his wife Jeanne shared a bond from the moment they met in 1986 that will never be broken, even with his passing.
In 1973 Tom married Jo Ann Casolo, the mother of his eldest son Benjamin Kozloski. They later divorced. Tom married his beloved, Jeanne Capozzola, on June 2, 1990 at First Presbyterian Church, Glens Falls and together they raised their children, Tucker Kozloski and Janna Kozloski in the town of Moreau.
In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Richard Kruzikas. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Kozloski of Gansevoort; his children Benjamin Kozloski of Clifton Park, Tucker Kozloski of Gansevoort, and Janna Kozloski of Gansevoort; his sisters M. Susan (David) Knightes of St. Albans, Vermont, Karen (Bradley) Kahtz of Pinehurst, North Carolina, Diane Kruzikas of Glenville; his brother Richard (Mary) Kozloski of Big Pine Key, Florida; his nieces and nephews and their families David (Renee) Knightes of Denville, New Jersey, Christopher Knightes of Narragansett, Rhode Island, Laura Berger of Atlanta, Georgia, Kerri Barrett of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Aleeza Opelt of Schenectady, Leslie Kozloski of Marlboro, Massachusetts, and Stash (Trisha) Kozloski of New Haven, Connecticut, He is also survived by his wife’s family which includes many brothers- and sisters-in law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Tom was blessed to have numerous friends over the years, too many to list here, who know who they are and know that they were loved.
As we celebrate Tom’s life, friends and family are invited to join us for calling hours from 4 – 8 p.m., Thursday Feb. 21 at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury and a funeral service at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 22 at First Presbyterian Church, Glen and Notre Dame St,, Glens Falls.
