Thomas R. Stark, Sr., 64, of Conyngham, passed away unexpectedly Sunday afternoon at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Hazleton, after becoming ill while enjoying his favorite pastime of mowing grass. Born in Hazleton, July 5, 1953, he was the son of the late Harry and Marie (Mondik) Stark and spent his entire life in Conyngham. Tom was a 1975 graduate of Penn State University with a BS in Business Administration.

He worked as a Material Handler for Hershey Foods, Humboldt for the past 13 years. Prior to Hershey Foods, Tom worked at First Federal Savings and Loan, was Vice-President of NEP Administrators for 15 years, and later worked for Medical Management. He served as Secretary/Treasurer for the Conyngham Union Cemetery Association; Vice-President of the Conyngham Sportsman’s Club; and was a past board member of CVCO.

He enjoyed the outdoors and taking day trips with his family. Tom especially enjoyed mowing grass, cooking, and working around his home. Surviving are his wife, the former Nancy Carlyon, to whom he would have been married 37 years on May 8, 2018; a daughter Dr. Allison Yourechko and her husband Chris, Conyngham; and son Thomas Jr., Harrisburg; a brother Robert and his wife Nancy; a sister Carol Rymond and her husband Daniel, all of Conyngham; and several brother in laws, sister in laws, nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. John Bosco RC Church, 573 State Route 93, Sugarloaf. Burial will follow in Conyngham Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon 4-7 pm.
