Troy’s Obituary Obituary Troy Higgins, 29 Troy David Higgins, 29, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Friday, February 15, 2019 from injuries sustained in a car accident. Troy was born on March 19, 1989 to David and Lynda Bateman Higgins in Blackfoot, Idaho. He attended schools in Blackfoot and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 2007.

After high school, he enlisted in the US Navy and served for 4 years. Troy married Shaylyn Szymanski on July 26, 2014 in Pocatello after stealing her heart when she was just 17. They had two beautiful daughters, Zamora and Zayleyona.

He worked as an HVAC technician for Source Refrigeration and HVAC. Troy was a hard-working man that really enjoyed spending time with his wife and kids and teaching them everything he knew. He enjoyed reading to his kids.

He loved telling his wife about the time he spent in the military. They talked about his day at work every night when he got home. He enjoyed playing Pokemon Go with Shaylyn, her Uncle Paul, his brother Scott and his wife Erin.

He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved cooking new foods with his wife and kids and making up new recipes and they were so good. But most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, children and family.

Troy is survived by his loving wife, Shaylyn; his daughters, 5 year old Zamora and 2 year old, Zayleyona; his parents, David and Lynda Higgins of Blackfoot; brother, Scott (Erin) Higgins of Pocatello; sister, Lydia Christiansen of Blackfoot; mother-in-law Sherry (Cory) Thornley of Pocatello; father-in-law Shawn (Angee) Szymanski of Twin Falls; and his grandmother, Jean Bateman. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Delbert Bateman and D. Jack Higgins; and his grandmother, Bennitt Higgins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2019 at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot.

The family will meet with friends Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to help with funeral costs are being accepted at Hawker Funeral Home. Memories of Troy and condolences to the family can be shared at www.
