Vickie Diane Stewart, 61, of Vergennes, passed away at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Vicki was born September 16, 1956, in Murphysboro to the late Pete and Allie (Gibbs) Talbott of Ava. She was united in marriage to Rick Stewart on August 17, 1974, in Murphysboro.

Rick survives of Murphysboro. Other survivors include two sons, Scott Stewart (Amy) of Carterville and Travis Stewart (Leah) of Murphysboro; three grandchildren, Trevor and Allie Stewart of Carterville and Kaylee Stewart of Murphysboro; two nieces, two nephews, and several aunts, uncles and cousins; one brother-in-law, Terry Wilson of Ava; and one special friend Verl Lynn Smith of Murphysboro She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Bill and Phyllis Stewart and one sister–in-law, Sue Ann Wilson. Cremation has been accorded; private burial will be at a later date.

A memorial gathering will be at the First Baptist Church in Ava from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2018, with a memorial service in celebration of Vickie’s life at 2 p.m. Pastor Bill Stoklosa will officiate. Immediately following the service, there will be a meal served at the church. Memorials are the preferred form of remembrance and may be made to the First Baptist Church of Ava.
