Vera Whitehead, 69, of Sandusky, Ohio passed away in her sleep on Thursday, April 19, 2018. Vera was born in Britol, CT to the late Rev. John V. Davis Sr. and Mary L. (Hoyrd) Davis on March 9, 1949.

Vera was a graduate of Bristol Eastern High School while starting her family with Arthur L. Whitehead Sr. Vera leaves behind an amazing family, living from Connecticut to Ohio. She is survived by her three children, Arthur L. Whitehead Jr., of Bristol, CT, Jason K. Whitehead, of Bristol, CT, and Heather S. Whitehead, of Newington, CT. Vera’s legacy is left with her “Handsome Little Man,” grandson, Mason L. Whitehead; granddaughter, Ciera R. Hunter; two daughters-in-law, Benita and Melissa Whitehead.

Vera leaves her siblings to carry on with her “LOVE,” Gregory, Jacqueline, Sidney, Melvin, Marvin, Becky, Richard, Raymond, Holly, Gloria, Dean, and Marcy. Vera was preceded in death by her siblings, Stella and John. Vera’s Ohio family, The Cooper Family, abundance of friends.

Vera also leaves her love for a host of nieces and nephews who all knew they are her favorite. Vera was an original member of the NAACP, Bristol Chapter, serving as secretary. Her loving heart graced people from Grandway, The State of Connecticut, through Delphi (Retired).

Vera will be remembered for many reasons: from LOVE, compassion, kindness, generosity, strength, wisdom, beauty, but most importantly, faith. We are calling her prayer warriors now. Some would like to say Vera is known for showing love by feeding her family and friends lasagna and “TiTi’s Famous Apple Pie”.
