Robert “Bruce” Criswell November 18, 1938 – April 19, 2018 Robert “Bruce” Criswell, 79, of Clyde, passed away Thursday evening, April 19, 2018 at Mercy – St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, OH after a brief illness. Bruce was born on November 18, 1938 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Edward and Ollie (Jackson) Criswell. Bruce was a 1957 graduate of Sandusky High School and worked as a machinist at Industrial Nut for 45 years, retiring in 2002.

Bruce enjoyed working… Read More » on his cars, motorcycles and model airplanes. He had a talent for fixing things and could take almost anything apart and put it back together. His greatest joy was spending time with his cocker spaniel Hershey, and his family, especially his grandchildren.

Bruce is survived by 4 children, Laura (Jim) McKenzie, Christofer (Wendy) Criswell, Karon Criswell and Barry (Melissa) Criswell; 10 grandchildren, Brandi, Paula, Rita, Shanne, Kristen, Grace, Katelyn, Joshlyn, Barry and Evan; 7 great grandchildren, Raeannah, Jordyn, Mykenzie, Layah, Logan, Addison and Dakoda; brother, Jack Criswell and sister, Delores Wadsworth. In addition to his parents, Bruce is preceded in death by his siblings, Harold Criswell, Colleen Wadsworth, Anna Mae Wadsworth, Pam Callahan, Marilyn Billman and Wanda Criswell. A committal service will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 10 am at Meadow Green Memorial Park.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 2 – 6 pm at the Townsend Township Firehouse, 5076 County Road 247, Vickery, Ohio 43464. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Those wishing to contribute to Bruce’s memory may do so to the Humane Society of Sandusky County, 1315 N River Road, Fremont, OH 43420.
