Viola Mae Troop May 25, 1929 – March 12, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Longtime Newberry resident, Viola Mae Troop, 89, died Tuesday evening March 12, 2019 at her residence on East Lake. Born May 25, 1929 in Wells Township, daughter of the late Arthur and Hazel (Moll) Sevarns, Viola owned and operated Troop’s Auto Crushing in Newberry for 40 years. She attended Northstar Baptist Church in McMillan and enjoyed fishing, puzzles, her pet dogs over the years and her computer.

In addition to her parents, Viola is preceded in death by her son Tim, daughter Laura and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her children Ernest Troop of Newberry, Danny (Dorothy) Troop of Newberry, Jerry “Bimbo” Troop of Bruni, TX, Chris (David) Thompson of Mesa, AZ, Patty Shocinski of Mesa, AZ, Helen (Ervin) Schroder of Newberry, Ann (John) Gorman of Rudyard and Cindy Pitawanakwat of Newberry; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings Roger (Florence) Sevarns of Newberry, James (Polly) Sevarns of Newberry, LeRoy Sevarns of McMillan and Luke (Doris) Sevarns of Manistique. Funeral services will be held in the spring at the Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry with interment following at Forest Home Cemetery.
