Violet E. Thompson, 100, DuBois, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 at Christ the King Manor. Born March 23, 1918, in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late William and Rose (Cousins) Wilson. On July 4, 1934, she married LeRoy Thompson in DuBois.

He preceded her in death on July 18, 1971. Violet worked for Eisman’s Hardware and retired as a cook from Christ the King Manor. She enjoyed reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing solitaire, and spending time with her family, especially her… Read More » grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Violet was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She is survived by a granddaughter, Sharon Roy, a great-granddaughter, Stephanie (Brian) Williams, and three great-great-grandchildren, Ryley, Cayley, and Bentley Williams, all of DuBois. She was the last member of her immediate family.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Judith Roush, her brothers, LeRoy and William Wilson, and an infant brother. Friends and family will be received Thursday, June 7th from 6-8 p.m. and Friday, June 8th from 10-11 a.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. Following Friday’s visitation, a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel with Rev. Kevin Bockus officiating.

Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the organization of the donor’s choice.
