William Burke “Billy” Hotalen, II, 72, of Fort Payne, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 at his home. He was born April 15, 1946 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Dr. William B. Hotalen and Bessie Faye Jones Hotalen. A 1964 graduate of Fort Payne High School, he played basketball at Shorter College before graduating at Oglethorpe University.

Bill coached Little League sports for many years and was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a most adored Papa to his grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Wilson Funeral Home.

A private graveside will follow in the Cavin family cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 until 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Judes or FUMC Youth Fund. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Becky Cavin Hotalen; children, Sally and Blake Campbell, Bibbo and Angie Hotalen, and Jimbo and Charmelle Hotalen; grandchildren, Clay and Arrington Collie, Austin and Tyler Cooper, Abby Hotalen, Cavin Collie, Will Hotalen, Samuel Hotalen and Natalie Hotalen; and great-grandchildren, Saylor Collie, Adaline Cooper, and Clayton Bowen Collie.
