William “Bill” J. DiMarzio, 80, of Wintersville, died Wednesday, November 21 at his home. He was born August 3, 1938 in Steubenville. He is the son of the late William and Mary Coppa DiMarzio.

He is also preceded in death by sisters, Grace Blum and Carolyn Perito. Bill was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. He was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel where he was a welder.

Bill was an active member of the Knights of Columbus council 472 and Father Bieglow Assembly 4th degree Knight of Columbus, where he also was past Grand Knight. He was also a member of the Blessed Sacrament Men’s Club and the Italian American Culture Club. Bill was a graduate of Catholic Central High School class of 1956.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Bill was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Surviving are his wife, Rita Crognale DiMarzio, whom he married August 18, 1962; one son, William (Adessa) DiMarzio of Westerville; two daughters, Teri (John ) Hale and Tracy ( Ray) Melchiori both of Aurora, OH; sister, Geri Dagan of CA; six grand children; Alyssa and Kahli Hale, Anthony and Joseph Melchiori, Nicolette and Vincenzo DiMarzio.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. , Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Fr.

Michael Gossett will celebrate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
