William “Bill” J. Friday June 16, 1945-June 5, 2018 Granger-William “Bill” J. Friday, 72, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. William was born on June 16, 1945 in South Bend to William J. and Rose Emma (Parent) Friday Sr He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Terry Friday.

Surviving are his sisters, Theresa (Tom) Smith and Rosemary Hammond; nephews, Brian Smith, Chris Smith, William Hammond; nieces, Kari (Joe) Brownbridge, Amy Cenkush; great nephews, AJ and Nate and great nieces, Karina and Makensie. Bill graduated from St. Joseph High School, after one year at Our Lady of the Lake Seminary graduated from Purdue University; he was also in ROTC. He furthered his education at Ivy Tech and IUSB in computer science.

He retired form Citi Group/Citi International. While in High School he joined Junior Achievement and as an adult became an advisor for JA. While working at Associates/Citi he volunteered with United Way, Habitat for Humanity, Logan Center and Sunburst Marathon.

Bill was a Bears, Cubs, and Notre Dame fan for life; and an avid fan of Notre Dame Women’s basketball. He loved spending time with his niece and nephew teaching them science, politics, trains and tea parties. He bowled for several years for the Knights of Columbus team.

Enjoyed going to Battel Center softball games and rooting on his friends. Bill will be missed by all. His request was for memorial donations to be made to Wounded Warriors or St. Jude’s Hospital.
