Billy was born on July 25, 1962 in Louisville to the late William and Carol Gerlach, and was a former Police Officer for Bowling Green Police Department. Here to carry on his memory are his sons, Spenser William and Duncan Lewis Gerlach; grandchildren, Aurora Rose and Emerson Leo; and his best friend, Shannon Gerlach.

Private services were entrusted to Arch L. Heady at Resthaven in Louisville.
