A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 AM Saturday at Saint Luke Church, celebrated by Rev. John Keehner, for William F. Danks, 79, who passed away peacefully Monday morning with his family by his side. William was born July 3, 1939 in Youngstown, a son of Francis and Rose Hackett Danks.

He was part of the first graduating class from Cardinal Mooney in 1959. William worked at GM Lordstown and worked with his son Bill as a cabinet maker. Bill was very involved in Boardman Community Baseball, managing many teams for his sons and grandsons.

William enjoyed spending time with his family, especially attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He loved hosting family events during the holidays. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife the former Barbara L. Schaal whom he married on September 15, 1962.

William leaves children William (Janeen) Danks, John (Christine) Danks, Jeannie (Don) Duran and Lynn (John) Corbley; brother Frank (Joyce) Danks, sisters Sally (Carl) Esposito, Dorothy (Russ) Sarkes, Roselyn Mikolich, sister-in-law Mamie Danks, brother-in-law William (Nancy) Schaal and five grandchildren Bob (fiancée Caitlin Parrilla) Danks, Kelli Duran, Donnie Duran, Amberly Danks and Aidan Corbley. Besides his parents, William was preceded in death by his sister Carol Sabanick, brother James Danks, and brother-in-law Robert Schaal. Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Fox Funeral Home, Boardman.

The family requests material contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fox Funeral Home 4700 Market St. Boardman, Oh. 44512.
