William F. Keck Jr., 85, of Drums, passed away Sunday evening February 3, 2019 at the residence of his son in Drums following a brief illness. Born in Hazleton, May 29, 1933, he was the son of the late William and Dorothy (Faux) Keck, Sr. and had spent the past 60 years in Drums, after moving from Hazleton. William was a graduate of Hazleton High School and Williamsport Technical School.

He was a member of Saint John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. John’s where he was a former Councilman and was actively involved in numerous church activities. He was a dedicated employee of PPL for 41 years retiring in 1994. The majority of that time was working as a Lineman Leader out of the White Haven Service Center.

He enjoyed gardening in his flower beds, camping and the outdoors. He was also a longtime member of Pioneer Fire Co. No. 1, Hazleton; Butler Twp.

Volunteer Fire Co., Drums; the Six County Fireman’s Assoc. , and the Fireman’s Assoc. of PA.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife, the former Nancy Anderson who passed away December 6, 2007; a brother Donald Keck, and a sister Lorraine Kirschner. Surviving are two sons Kenneth Keck and his wife Sharon, Drums; and Jeffrey Keck and his wife Linda, Drums; three grandchildren Beth Ann Sooy and her husband Robert, Sugarloaf; Justin Keck and Jaryd Keck, both of Drums; great-grandson Gavin Sooy; three sisters Betty Henderschedt, Mansfield, TX; Lois Steiner, Hazleton; and Dorothy “Dolly” Albertson, Jacksonville, FL; and many nieces and nephews also survive. His funeral will be held Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 10:30 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 West Butler Drive, Drums, with services continuing at 11:00 AM at Saint John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. John’s.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM and from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Saint John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund, PO Box 2 – 772 St. Johns Road, Saint Johns, PA 18247.
