William Gary Douglas, age 76 of the Ostella Community, died Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Douglas was a native of Nashville, Tennessee born on January 4, 1942 son of William Preston and Paulene Dillehay Douglas. He was a former owner of the Hiway 50 Drive-In Theater and Gary’s Place Restaurant for several years.

He was a member of Catalpa Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and song leader. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Justin Humble, and sister, Betty Sowell. He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, June Sowell Douglas of the Ostella community, three daughters, Donna Looney and son-in-law Rick of the Spring Place community, Karen Walker and son-in-law, JD, and Wendy Ridley and son-in-law Jamey all of Cornersville, two sons, Rick Douglas and daughter-in-law Sherry of Pine Mountain, Georgia, and Billy Douglas and daughter-in-law, Selena of Bell Buckle, ten grandchildren, Amber Douglas, Andrew, Matthew and Justin Looney, Blake and Faith Douglas, Kayden and Alex Walker, and Kevin Trammell, and Jenna Ridley, and ten great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, special cousin, Tammie Calys, and spoiled dachshund, Chloe.

The family will be at London Funeral Home Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. for visitation. Mr. Douglas body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held Friday the 27th at 2:00 p.m. from Catalpa Church of Christ. The family will visit one hour prior to the memorial service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catalpa Church of Christ of the Tennessee Children’s Home. London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
