William Henry Watson, Sr. November 02, 1937 – August 05, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card William Henry Watson, Sr., 80, of 120 Five Notch Road, Bradley, SC entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at his home. Born in Greenwood County, he was the son of the late Lucy Grace Watson and Ozzie Watson, Sr. At an early age he joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where he served faithfully until his death.

He was a member of the Trustee Board, Men’s Sunday School Class and past president of the Senior Adult Choir. He was a member of the Breezewood Community Club and the AARP. Additional memberships included the Piedmont Farmers Cooperative as a first charter member and the Greenwood Beef Producers.

He also was honored as the 2011 Agriculturist of the year by the Greenwood Rotary Club. He served faithfully as a past van driver for the Senior Choir, as well as a driver and deliverer for the church’s meal on wheels. He graduated from Brewer High School in 1956 and retired from Monsanto in 1994 with 29 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Julia Mae Murray Watson; his parents, two brothers, Mac Arthur Watson and Roy Mack Morton. William Henry Watson, Sr. leaves behind his loving wife, Coressa Andrews Watson and two sons, Dexter Watson and William Henry Watson, Jr. (Sandra); eight grandchildren, William Henry Watson, III (Tiara), Shawn Christopher Watson (Andrea), Taylor Nicole Calixte (Bird), Teresa Candace Watson, Julia Mae Watson, Dexter Watson, Jr., Spaleta LaShay Sanders, and William DeShawn Ethridge; nine great grandchildren, one brother, Ozzie Watson, Jr. (Earline), one sister, Peggy Simpson (Marian), one brother-in-law, Bobby Andrews; three sisters-in-law, Dr. Janie A. Freeman, Luther Graham and CeLaine Watson and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. William will be missed by all who knew and love him.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Adams, Pastor and officiating.

The body will be placed in the church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Trustees and Nephews, Flower Bearers will be Trustees Wives and Nieces. Honorary Escorts will be Farmers Cooperatives and Greenwood Beef Producers.

The family is at the home, 120 Five Notch Road, Bradley. Service entrusted to Parks Funeral Home.
