Mr. Willie’s Obituary Our hearts are filled with sorrow at the home going of our beloved brother, Mr. Willie Frank Russell. He answered God’s summons to his heavenly home early Monday morning, November 26, 2018 at Orangeburg Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, South Carolina. Mr. Willie Russell, the youngest son of the late Mr. Samuel Russell and Mrs. Annie Anderson Russell, was born on January 25, 1938 in Holly Hill, South Carolina.

Willie’s relationship with God began at an early age when he became a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Later, he moved to Miami, Florida where he attended various churches. Willie returned to his home town of Holly Hill in the year 2000 and reconnected himself with his home church of Bethel A.M.E, where he served faithfully until his passing.

Willie, affectionately known as “Blue” to his friends, was a quiet, humble, reserved type person, who, when he got started talking, could really make you laugh. Willie received his educational training at Roberts High School in Holly Hill, South Carolina. Willie was called to serve his country in the United States Army in 1960.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Annie Anderson Russell and his brother, Sammie Russell. His memory will always be cherished by his loving and devoted sister, Mrs. Eugenia Russell Brown, of Holly Hill, SC; his former wife, Mrs. Betty Russell, of White Springs, FL; one nephew, Mr. Ronald Brown, of Holly Hill, SC; three grand nephews: Byron, T. Brown, Kuane A. Brown, Kedrain A. Brown; three grand nieces: Devonna Walls, Toyia Turner, Sierra Brown; a special friend, Mattie Rivers and a host of other relatives and friends.
