Obituary for Willie Lee May Beloved wife, devoted mother and grandmother, Willie Lee May, age 81, passed away on April 11, 2018 in Longview, Texas, surrounded by her family. Willie was born in Russellville, Alabama to the parentage of Noah and Ethel Lee Young. She is preceded in death by her husband, George May, Jr.; her parents, Noah and Ethel Lee Young; her brother, Leroy Young; her grandparents, Mary and Rev.

William Humphrey; and a special aunt, Dessie Martin. Willie is survived by her daughter, Diane May Webb; her son, Jerry May; her step-daughter, Regina May Pointer (Carl); her grand-daughter, Aleshia Webb; her siblings, Alma Southward, Katherine Brown, Rosa Mercer and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. Willie loved to read, loved to sing and she was a sweet, kind, mild tempered person who loved children.

She was a graduate of Reedtown High School in Russellville, Alabama; graduated from Wiley College with a B.S. Degree and taught for many years at Head Start. Willie always had a warm smile and loved being around people, but her true passion in life was her family. She was a faithful Jehovah Witness for many years and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 6-8pm at Meadowbrook Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2:00pm at Meadowbrook Funeral Home with Fred Green officiating. Interment will follow at Sipps Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
