Albert (Al) Genasevich, 77, of Hazle Township went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, January 24, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. Born in Hazleton, January 28, 1941. He was the son of the late Helen (Genasevich) Kondratovich.

He spent all of his life in the Hazleton area. Friends and family knew him as a gentle, giving, tender hearted story teller and an all-around great guy. Al worked for many years in the local garment industry.

He enjoyed being a part of his growing family and loved attending family sporting events. Political conversation and debate allowed him to show how much he cared for our country. He was a member of the Pulaski Club, West Hazleton, and was, at the time of his death, the longest active member.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his mother, by a brother William; and a daughter-in-law Leigh Ann. Surviving are his wife of the past 56 years, the former Loretta Yachera; five children Paula Genasevich, West Hazleton; Cathy Kowalski and her fiancé Eugene Bodnar, Hazle Township; Gary Genasevich, Sugarloaf; Michael Genasevich and his wife Heidi, West Hazleton; and Alan Genasevich and his companion Jessica Urenovich, Delano; six grandchildren Jarod, Wade, and Nolan, Mikey Jr., Megan and, Brandi; and one great granddaughter; Aubree. Albert’s family will be celebrating his life on his birthday by holding his Memorial Service on Monday, January 28that 7 pm in Harvest Church, 475 Main St., Conyngham.

The family will receive friends at the church Monday evening from 6 PM until the time of the service. The family would appreciate memorial donations to Harvest Church, PO Box 1344, Conyngham, PA 18219. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums assisted the family with the cremation.
