Calvin E. Fisher, 96, of West Hazleton, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest, Allentown, following a brief illness. Born in Hazleton, August 18, 1922, he was the son of the late Howard and Dora (Eroh) Fisher and spent most of life in West Hazleton. Calvin had worked on the railroad for 23 years and later as an electrician for 13 years, having retired from Rand Electric.

He had served with the Coast Guard and Navy during WWII from 1942 – 1945. He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Hazle Township. He was an avid sports fan, especially football, and enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife, the former Edith Frye, to whom he was married 68 years, before her passing on April 13, 2012; a grandson Calvin J. Fisher Jr.; a great-grandson Jackson Casey; a brother Howard Fisher; two sisters Ann Genesevich and Doris Kresge; and a nephew Robert Fisher. Surviving are a daughter Gail Randis, and her husband Mark, Brandonville; a son Calvin J. Fisher and his wife Meredith, Dillsburg; six grandchildren, Eric Fisher, Danielle Crull, Jennifer Casey, Mark Randis, Sheerah Schatzel, and Adam Randis; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held with a private graveside service at the convenience of the famlly in Mt.

View Cemetery, West Hazleton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Faith UCC Church, 21 Faith Drive, Hazle Township, PA 18202. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums is assisting the family with the arrangements.
