Anja Roland Elder of Whitesville KY passed away at the age of 53 on February 17th from congestive heart failure. Born September 8, 1965 in Mainz, Germany. She found home in the United States for the past 32 years and was inaugurated as a US citizen on December 23rd 2018.

Anja was employed at SFG of Owensboro KY for over 12 years as a Quality Assurance Technician and took great pride in her work. She spent much of her free time tending to her garden. Anja also taught herself how to knit and she was constantly working on projects for the ones she loved.

Her longing for the ocean and sea life brought her to become certified in scuba diving. She loved animals of all kinds, owning several dogs throughout her life, and more recently acquiring exotic animal species. She loved cooking and hosting family events.

Anja is survived by mother Karin Roland, husband Bruce Elder, son Benjamin Newell, daughter Jessica Elder, son Joshua Elder and fiancé Rebekah Cook, son Aaron Elder and daughter-in-law Jessica Westerfield-Elder, along with three grandchildren, and several other family members who loved her much.
