Ann Dolores Chiorazzi, 104 of Salinas passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018. She was born September 4, 1913 in Bayonne, New Jersey. She was the fifth born of six siblings of Italian immigrants.

She was an excellent professional hairdresser. That is how she met her future husband, Patrick. He owned his own barber shop and he hired her in 1935.

Eventually, they married and had three children: Frank, John and Claudette Casella. She was a very talented and passionate home chef. Her meals were loved by everyone.

She also was excellent at sewing and crocheting. She was a Nurse’s Aide at Dover General Hospital, Dover New Jersey for 18 years. She loved caring for patients and received numerous accolades for her excellent work there.

After her husband, Patrick passed on in1994 she stayed at her New Jersey home until 1996. She then moved to Salinas, California under the care of her daughter Claudette and her son Frank. She passed away at the Carmel Hills Care Center in Monterey.

She had nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Visitation will be held 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis Street, Salinas, CA. 93901.

Rosary will be held at 7:00p.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis Street, Salinas, CA. 93901. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1 Railroad Avenue, Spreckels, CA.

93962. Burial to follow at San Carlos Cemetery, 792 Fremont Street, Monterey, CA. 93940.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Carmelite Monastery of Carmel, 27601 Highway 1, Carmel, CA. 93923 or Donor’s favorite charity.
