Obituary for Anne Ruth Evans Barr Kingsport, TN – Anne Evans Barr went home to be with her Savior on December 9, 2018 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her loving husband; Clarence Barr. Anne is survived by her sons; Tim Barr (wife Donna) and Bret E. Barr, grandson; Bret C. Barr (fiancé Savannah Middleton), and beloved great grand- daughter; Mollyanne Middleton Barr.

Her love for her family was unbounded, with Mollyanne being the bright center of her attention. Anne was a member of Island Road Evangelical Methodist Church in Blountville where she was active for over 40 years. She loved to sing in the choir, was secretary of the EMC Ladies, and thoroughly enjoyed serving the Lord.

She was an accomplished seamstress, creating one of a kind clothes for the family for decades. All her church dresses were homemade, and she greatly enjoyed finding hats and shoes to complete the ensemble. Over the last few years, being able to attend church was a great blessing that she was very grateful for.

Anne also cherished decorating the home for the Holidays. She worked tirelessly transforming the house into a winter wonderland each Christmas. Her love of Christmas was evident in the way she lived her life, celebrating the joy of salvation through Jesus.

She retired from Century Link after 10 years of service. She enjoyed her time at Sprint but was eager to retire and spend more time with family. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm Thursday, December 13, 2018 at East Tennessee Funeral Home, with funeral service to follow with Rev.

Bradley Reider and Rev. Doug Drinnon officiating. Immediately following the service Mrs. Barr will be laid to rest at East Tennessee Cemetery in the Garden of Solomon.
