Arthur Dodson Taylor Jr., 77, of Blanch, N.C., passed from this life on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Curis of Reidsville. He was born July 22, 1941, in Halifax, Va. to the late Gracie Hargrove Taylor and the late Arthur Dodson Taylor, Sr

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Brooks Taylor. Mr. Taylor retired from Dan River Mills. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

Mr.… Read More » Taylor is survived by his daughters, Debra Taylor Shelton (Barry) of Danville, and Angela Bartley (Barry) of Blanch; his sisters, Nellie Stoots of Providence, N.C., Alice Angle (James) of Bassett, Va. , and Evelyn Lowe of Danville; his brothers, William Thomas Taylor (Sandra) of Danville, and James Taylor of Arlington, Va.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew Shelton, Brandi Shelton, Landon Bartley, and Joshua Bartley, as well as nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at the funeral home prior to the service, and at other times at the home of his daughter, Debra Shelton. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer Assoc.
