Arthur Adelbert Done Arthur Adelbert Done born June 19, 1929 in El Paso Texas, passed into the spirit world December 14, 2018, where he was greeted by his wife, Helen; father Joseph Franklin Done; mother Anne Elizabeth Sellers Done; seven brothers Joseph Lavell, Elwyn F., Willard Edwin, Robert Seller, Melvin James, Ray Anthony, Arwell Lee, and by two sisters Mary and Joanne, along with numerous other relatives and friends. This big reunion was rather short lived since everybody seemed to have a lot of other things to do. Although born in El Paso Texas, Arthur was reared in Salt Lake City where he graduated from South High School and the University of Utah, where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in marketing in 1954.
Prior to this he was called to serve a mission for two and a half years in the Spanish-American mission in Texas and New Mexico from 1948 to 1951. On returning home from his mission he was called to serve for two years in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Early in 1955 Arthur moved to Ogden Utah where he worked for General Mills in the Sperry Division as an assistant production manager.
He soon met Helen Johnson, a teacher at the Utah School for the Deaf. Helen had obtained her degree in speech therapy from Brigham Young University. After a brief courtship they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 9, 1955.
It was announced that the University of Utah was starting a Master of Business Administration program, Arthur applied for this program and was accepted. He graduated with an MBA degree in 1956 and subsequently obtained a teaching position at the University of North Dakota where he taught marketing courses for two years. He was then accepted into the Doctor of Philosophy program at the University of Illinois where he took marketing related courses and other research activities satisfying all the requirements for the PHD degree except the completion of the Doctoral Dissertation, which he later completed while teaching at Brigham Young University.
Later teaching assignments were carried out at New Mexico State University and Weber State University. Upon retiring from teaching, Arthur and Helen’s interest turned toward family history work and temple services. They served as temple workers and missionaries in the Ogden Temple, Mexico City Temple, Santiago Chile Temple, Bogota Columbia Temple, and returning again to the Mexico City Temple.
Spanish was the required language in all of these missions except the Ogden Temple. He is survived by four sons David Arthur (Donna) Done, Joseph Scott (Michelle) Done, Mark Lee (Ashley) Done, Robert Johnson (Corrie) Done; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife of 63 years and daughter Clara.
