Bernice’s Obituary Bernice Lydia Dankenbring Langkrahr, 81, of Concordia, MO, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Good Shepherd Care Community. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2019 at Bethel United Church of Christ with Rev. Dr. Alan Gatewood officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to family choice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home and an online guestbook is available at www.

campbell-lewis.com Born December 3, 1937 in Omaha, NE, she was the daughter of the late Henry Dankenbring and Hilda Gieselman Dankenbring. Bernice lived in Concordia most of her life, attending St. Paul’s Lutheran Grade School and Concordia High School, and in 1953 went to work on the family owned dairy business, Dankenbring Dairy/Twin City Dairy. On January 29, 1956 she married Melvin Langkrahr who preceded her in death on September 24, 1996.

In 1968 she started working outside the home at Unitog and then at Lutheran Good Shepherd Home, both in Concordia. Bernice obtained her GED and Certified Nurses Aid certificate and retired from Western Missouri Medical Center in 1997. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and after marriage, became a member of Bethel United Church of Christ.

Survivors include three daughters: Linda Long of Centerview, Gail Langkrahr and Wanda Hemme, both of Concordia; one son, Curtis Langkrahr (Tammy) of Concordia; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; four siblings: Cathy Bell (Gene) of Concordia; Ivan Dankenbring (Lois), Larry Dankenbring (Donna), and David Dankenbring (Deanie), all of AZ; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Bernice was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Langkrahr on December 15, 1976; and four siblings: Arlene Kueker, Lora Burrow, Darrell Dankenbring, and Leroy Dankenbring.
