Russell’s Obituary Russell Alan Sims, 51, of Sweet Springs, MO, died Monday, February 18, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2019 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Emma with Pastor Jacob Mueller officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs.

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or MU Omega “There’s No Place Like Home” project in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. An online guestbook is available at www.

campbell-lewis.com Born July 11, 1967 in Sweet Springs, he was the son of Russell L. Sims, who survives of Sweet Springs, and the late Barbara Garrison Sims. Russell lived in Sweet Springs his entire life and was a 1985 graduate of Sweet Springs High School. On September 14, 1996 he married Stacy Evans who survives of the home.

Russell was a lifelong farmer, coached little league baseball, and previously was a member of the Young Farmers Association, and had served on the Sweet Springs Fair Board and Emma Coop Board. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Emma. Russell spent a lot of time interacting with his friends through fantasy baseball and football, and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

In addition to his father, Russell L.; and his wife, Stacy; he is survived by three sons: Craig Sims, Justin Sims, and Connor Sims; one sister, Karen Giffen; one brother, Ryan Sims, all of Sweet Springs; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family.
