Obituary for Mrs. Bessie Lee Lusk Fortson Bessie Lee Lusk Fortson, 86, wife of the late Paul Fortson, of Salem, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018, at Mission Hospital, Asheville, NC. A native of Oconee County, SC, Mrs. Fortson was the daughter of the late Willie E. Lusk and Myrtle Lee Nichols Lusk. She retired as a seamstress and was a member of Mt.

Carmel Baptist #2 Church. Mrs. Fortson is survived by her son: Douglas Fortson of Salem, SC; daughters: Wanda Nix (Billy) of Salem, SC, Genelle White of Salem, SC and Gayle Duncan (Kenneth) of Salem, SC; brother: David Lusk (Janet) of Hartwell, GA; sister: Marcia Lusk Webb (David) of Beauford, SC; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Fortson was preceded in death by her son: Paul Stephen Fortson; brothers: Earl Lusk, Carl Lusk, Melvin Lusk, Charles Lusk, Paul Lusk, Homer Lusk, Harold Lusk, and Gene Lusk; sisters: Nellie Towe and Elizabeth Lusk; and grandson: Brian White.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Mountain View Wesleyan Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00–2:00 PM, Wednesday, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted.
