Obituary of Beth Hicks Beth Anne Hicks, 73, from Greentown, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away in her home at 8:36 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. She was born in Elwood on October 20, 1945, to the late Charles Milford and Betty L. (Little) Winegardner. Beth graduated from Fairmount High School in 1963 and attended Indiana Business College in Fort Wayne, where she received her associate’s degree.

On October 21, 1967, she married her loving husband, C. Dean Hicks, and they had three children. Beth was a homemaker for many years before she was employed at Heartland Federal Credit Union in Kokomo. She served as Manager and CEO for 17 years until her retirement.

During her years at home when the children were growing up, she was actively engaged in the Band Boosters and PTA at Eastern Howard Schools, where her children attended. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and held the memories of family vacations dear to her heart, particularly their trips to Florida, Wisconsin, and Tennessee. Beth will also be remembered for being a family-centered, loving, and loyal wife, mother, and grandmother who sacrificed for those closest to her.

She will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Great Lakes Caring, especially Michelle Ray and Stephanie Morris. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dean, Greentown; children: Charles Anthony “Tony” (Carol) Hicks, Greentown; LouAnne (Brian) Oatess, Marion; and Susan Marie (Jason) Roberts, Greentown; brother: Philip (Sharon) Winegardner, Westville; sister-in-law: Sharon Winegardner, Marion; grandchildren: Caleb (Jillian) Hicks, Maddison (Brandon) Johnson, Cheralyn Hicks, Andrea (Trent) Pritchett, Katharine Oatess, Sarah Sharp, Abigail Sharp, and Lainey Roberts; great-grandchildren: Lilly, Cameron, Addie, Benton, Raelynn, and Hadleigh; mother-in-law: Betty Dekker, FL; and dear friend: caretaker Della Greentree.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Charles and Betty Winegardner, and brother, Eddie Ross Winegardner. The family will have a private burial for Beth at a later date at Albright Cemetery in Kokomo. Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave.
